On Tuesday, May 7, 2019, Justin Rostoff, an attorney with Klein Slowik PLLC, will serve as a panel speaker, along with Elizabeth A. Dunn, CPA, P.A., principal of Dunn CPA, in the Strafford 90-minute live continuing legal education (CLE) webinar titled “Structuring a Real Estate Installment Sale,” that will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. EST. The webinar will provide tax and financial insights on installment sales of commercial real estate. In addition to providing participants with the tools needed to structure installment sales, the panel will also examine their advantages and pitfalls, as well as discuss the complexities that may arise within these transactions.

During the webinar, Mr. Rostoff and Ms. Dunn will discuss key insights into the use of installment sales as an estate planning and wealth management tool, application of IRC Sections 453 and 453A during these transactions, and how to mitigate the risk of a buyer default. The panel will dive into the murky waters associated with “shark advertising” and other inadequacies likely to disqualify a sale from being treated as an installment sale under the IRC. In addition, the panel will provide guidance on how to protect clients from becoming the target of a Revenue Ruling or Treasury Memorandum.

Mr. Rostoff concentrates his practice on all facets of real estate law and transactions, land use, zoning, licensing compliance, and corporate law and governance. His experience and expertise include all phases of the purchase and sale of industrial, commercial, and residentially zoned parcels. He is experienced in representing residential and commercial condominium boards.
